15 Years
SIGNAL is the City of Melbourne’s creative arts studio for young people aged 14 to 25.
Over 15 years, SIGNAL has had the pleasure of growing some of the most exciting emerging artists and creatives in Melbourne today. This milestone marks our achievements to date: engaging 4,000 artists to deliver 9,000 creative arts sessions for 28,000 young people.
As we celebrate this milestone, we also reflect on the experience of all the people who have walked through our doors, many of whom have built creative careers since their time at SIGNAL.

SIGNAL Creative Arts Studio
SIGNAL’s program is packed full of visual arts, film, sound, new media, music and theatre workshops and opportunities to create and present new work. Our workshops give you the chance to try out lots of different artforms, use industry materials and work alongside professional artists.
SIGNAL is free and open to all young people. You don’t need any experience to participate in our programs. Check out what’s on at SIGNAL to get involved.
The Digital SIGNAL platform is an online space to showcase new work created by young artists with SIGNAL.
