Drawing on her experience living with a rare neuromuscular disease, her poetry explores ideas surrounding identity, belonging, grief and connection.

Artist Statement

This free verse poem is a call to consciousness and action when judging ourselves or others as ‘deserving’.

Inspired by a personal and collective yearning for disability equity, each quatrain holds its own rhythm and value. The poem is designed to encourage reflection and recollection of lines that resonate personally with readers.
